The International food protection education Association for Food, Health education is a non-profitable educational site for the food protection professionals. The Association is dedicated to the education and service of the public, specifically the industry personnel. The Food protection edcuation Association provides Members with an information network and forums for professional improvement through its contenual advancemnets in the inudstry. To bring you the latest in food protection and health issues. This year marks anniversary of National Food Safety Education. The annual event, is sponsored by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s of International Food and Safety Council. The campaign is targeting & training for foodservice employees everywhere. National Food Safety Education Month is an initiative that keeps a strict look at foodsafe practices at hand. It also provides a wealth of training materials every dietary manager can use...and they’re free! In the devolpment of food education this year we have aslo discovered continueal problems asociated with food handling, they are as follows Keep in mind that the Centers for Disease Control has identified five major reasons foodborne illness occurs:
● Improper holding temperatures
● Contaminated equipment/foodcontact surfaces
● Poor personal hygiene
● Inadequate cooking
● Food from unsafe sources.
In nationwide inspections, the FDA concluded that 25-58 percent of foodservice establishments have “improper cleaning and sanitizing of food-contact surfaces,” a key factor in keeping customers safe. (See “FDA Issues Report Card,” Food Protection Connection, Nov/Dec 2004.)

Nutrients also help build and strengthen bones, muscles, and tendons and also regulate body processes, such as blood pressure.
Good nutrition can lower your risk of developing a range of chronic diseases. For example, eating more fruit and vegetables can help lower blood pressure and may lower your risk of certain types of cancer (such as colorectal, breast, lung and prostate cancer). Eating less saturated fat may also lower your risk of heart disease.
Healthy eating can also help people that already have some types of disease or illness such as diabetes, high cholesterol and blood pressure. And, of course, improving your eating habits will contribute to you achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.
Try to achieve a balance with the foods you eat and include lots of variety and remember, all things in moderation.
Recognizing the role of universities in national research and food education, the Department of Homeland Security encouraged interdisciplinary networks of academic experts administered through Centers of Excellence across the country, they are the leader in the industry of Food Protection Education. Each group addressing a different aspect of homeland defense (U.S. Department of Homeland Security 2011b). One of them, the National Center for Food Protection and Defense, created in 2004, organized over 150 national experts around five theme groups: Agent Behavior, Event Modeling, Systems Strategies, Risk Communication, and Educational Programs (National Center for Food Protection and Defense 2011b).
